Differences between imported and locally made kits?

10. What is the difference between Imported Gazebo Kits and your Australian manufactured kits?

Most imported kits come from Indonesia; they are predominantly made from rain forest timber which is not being replaced or regrown.

They use coconut log posts which are not treated and are quite prone to dry rot and termite attack, they do not usually have engineering plans or meet Australian Building Standards.

We use F7 building grade timber to fabricate our frame structures, all timber used are renewable forest products and are pressure treated to prevent rot and termite attack.

The Thatch on imported kits is attached by twine which breaks down after a few years allowing the thatch to fall off, due to the design they are impractical to rethatch.

We attach our thatch with heavy galvanised 50mm staples, nails or screws so you will never have a problem and the thatch is easily replaced when the time comes.

Most imported kits are slip together without any fasteners with the posts just sitting on the ground leaving you with a wobbly structure.

We assemble all of our frames using galvanised fasteners and our posts are normally concreted into the ground, giving you a sturdy, long lasting structure, we have combined the ancient natural beauty and cool benefits of thatch with modern building techniques to give you the benefits and charm of thatch in a structure that is safe and will last.
